Carmanah’s Type III crews are rapid-response, crew-ready resources deployed for sustained attack, mop-up, patrol, demobilization, contingency coverage, and suppression support across Western Canada

While some treat Type III as filler, we treat it as the foundation of Carmanah’s future — and the training ground for our next generation of leaders.

Each 20-person crew is structured around leadership depth and succession:

The Strike Team Leader serves as the Crew Supervisor — typically the most experienced fireline leader in the company.

Bravo Squad Boss acts as second-in-command, able to step into the Crew Sup role when senior leadership is pulled into overhead responsibilities.

Charlie and Delta Squad Bosses are rising leaders, selected for their potential, attitude, and performance — a proving ground for future Crew Leads and STLs.

These crews follow the same crew-first, mentorship-driven approach as our Type II program — just scaled to meet the demands of larger, more complex operations.

We hand-pick every team with a focus on crew dynamics, leadership potential, and operational readiness. Each Type III deployment is an opportunity to shape new leaders, build internal capacity, and reinforce the culture that defines Carmanah.
