About

Carmanah Wildfire is a crew-first wildfire and land services company based in North Cowichan, BC. Founded in 2018, we raise the standard for contracted wildfire crews across Western Canada.

We are built by firefighters, for firefighters. Mentorship, accountability, and team cohesion come first. From rookies to seasoned fireline leads, our people work year-round so they stay ready when communities and agencies need them.

Carmanah is recognized as a Safe Certified company through the BC Forest Safety Council. We work as a BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) contractor and deliver Type II and Type III fire crews for suppression, mop-up, holding, and support operations.

Beyond the fireline, our crews provide FireSmart and wildfire mitigation services (including assessment work powered by our AISIX partnership), wildfire training and boot camps aligned with BCWS, NWCG, and NFPA standards, vegetation management, danger tree assessing and falling, and helipad construction.

We serve British Columbia, Alberta, and the wider Western Canada region. Whether the work is emergency response or year-round industry projects, the same safety standards and crew-first culture apply.
